    Precarious housing is determined based on the materials used for walls. The classification of materials as precarious or non-precarious can vary between countries. Materials considered precarious include adobe, baharaque (a wooden frame with mud inserted between the rafters), wattle and daub (a woven mat made of some form of organic material and coated in mud), bamboo, clay, cardboard, veneer, waste materials, mat, sheeting (fiberglass rubber, asbestos or metal), cement, harvested wood, stone, drywall, plastic, plywood,bricks, and palm.
