New charts, new data, new funding and ... sheep?

Dear DataMarket enthusiast,

Did you know...

Well now you do!

Other things we have been up to:

New charts = more ways to explore our data

In the last couple of months, we've quietly added a range of new chart types to DataMarket: Area charts, various types of bar and column charts, tables and more. Different chart types give you different views on the data and allow you to explore and emphasize different perspectives to gain insights and share your findings. Go try it out.

Data Publishing solutions are taking off

In our May newsletter we mentioned our publishing solutions for data providers. Moving away from the traditional delivery of Excel-sheets, PowerPoint-presentations and PDF-documents, these solutions allow data providers to deliver their research, analysis and measurement data to customers via our easy-to-use, interactive online data publishing tools. The data can be made available either on DataMarket.com or by deploying a white-label version of our system under the data providers' brand as an integrated part of their existing web sites.

We have seen a lot of interest in these solutions, ranging from private analysts to large research organizations, financial companies and media houses. Among the first customers to sign up for a full white-label solution is the Central Bank of Iceland. They will launch our solution as a part of their website upgrade in the coming months, exchanging manually maintained, downloadable Excel-sheets for our visual, interactive and searchable online approach.

DataMarket secures $1.2M funding - want to join the team?

A few weeks back, DataMarket secured $1.2M in funding from Iceland’s leading growth capital investment fund - Frumtak. This new investment allows us to fully seize the opportunity at hand. We believe have developed a pretty unique and valuable offering in DataMarket.com and the underlying technology that we’ve already licensed to several customers.

The additional funds will be used to boost our international sales and marketing efforts and further strengthen our product offering with more data sources and more functionality to fulfill the needs of an even broader audience.

As a part of those efforts we are looking for an enthusiastic new team member to join our sales efforts on the US East Coast. If you believe you're the person for the job, please drop us a line.

As always, you can follow developments at DataMarket using our Twitter feed and on Facebook. We also frequently update our blog with thoughts on the "big data" business and developments at DataMarket.
